The push button on Chorehorse Generators allows you to start the engine providing that the battery you are attached to still has enough life in it. The button effectively turns the generator into a motor by reversing the polarity.

These Generators and there British Army equivalents were manfactured and used for many years over here. Large numbers of unissued post war examples have been released in the UK over the last ten years. War time and post war examples are practicaly identical.
