See Indian Army vehicles for a link to a picture of a pair of T212's in North Africa, apparently in service with the Fifth Indian Division:

Hanno, I think that pic might be a row of 3 Dodge WC27 ambulances? They all appear to have the same marking on the left side of the roof above the windscreen and I can't see a cab roof/ canvas combo on the 3rd veh, looks like a full length roof like the other 2.
Rediscovering this post again, I had a close look at some of the previous pics. The D8A has 6 stud hubs/wheels. Could these be the same as C8 HUP and C8AX? |

Thanks for that one Hanno!
![]() This is one of the 2500 Dodge D8A 'TRUCK 8-CWT. 4 X 4 PERSONNEL' shipped to Egypt, to Demand S/M 2029, Model T212. The C60L on the site could be to one of two batches sent to Egypt in 1942. [moderator's note: link updated] |

It's worth reading the account - here's where he first meets his ambulance:

I'm always surprised at the number of fascinating information sources that are out there on the web. So thanks for the link to the New Zealand War History site.

"A Stuart tank comes to the rescue of a truck which has become stuck in soft sand near Nufilia, 26 December 1942"
The "truck" is of course a Dodge D8A/T212 8-cwt 4x4 truck.

In the photo it looks like the D8A/T212 is also towing something.
