Malcolm, you might like to revisit the thread? I'd suggest 7/16" BSF (18 tpi)

I checked the thread in the clevis I posted the sketch of. Definitely 1/2"-13 UNC. I see this does not match the 7/16" BSF specified in the Carrier parts manual. I don't know why. This is a Canadian Mk II Carrier, built by Ford in Windsor, Ontario, and restored many years ago by the Ontario Regiment Museum. Malcolm
