Welcome to MLU and congratulations on buying that F15A! I recall seeing it for sale onMilWeb, and am happy to see it found a home at a MLU member.

Re. colours, not sure about the primer used during WW2. One option was that the chassis and drive train were painted black, then sprayed in a topcoat as per army contracts. By the time your type of truck was built, the standard colour was Khaki Green No. 3. Read more details in Mike Starmers article or buy his books.
