|  One more difference 
			
			Earlier CMP front brakes used the narrow shoes and smaller 1 3/8" wheel cylinders (as you'd find on the 15cwt types). The later ones with the 6" steering ends had the same width brake drums and 1 1/2" wheel cylinders as the rear ones. I can't quite see from the angle of your pic which front axle you have. Hope this makes sense.
