Default M151a2 09744

I can confirm that M151A2 09744 was a LETE vehicle, it was disposed of in May 1989. It may be this vehicle which I photographed on display in the Carp Diefenbunker Museum in October 2015.

Default How many M151s do they have at the Bunker?

Hmmm? Time to ask the Curator about the collection of vehicles at the Bunker. About 5 yrs ago, I inspected a very clean M151 in the entrance of the long tunnel. I was told by Jason Ginn it has an indifferent record and is likely ex-US. I didn't take any pictures.

Default Dieffenbunker M151A2

Hello

The M151A2 at the Diefenbunker is CFR 74-09723, SN 45109 , It was sold out of Montreal.

Thanks for the info Rob. Any chance of getting the missing pages for the second grill style? CF 19 Please

Ed is that CFR 74-09186, SN 43736 sold out of Chilliwack with the licence plate bracket on the windshield, converted from Electronics vehicle for VIP?

I have been following up from Clive's original CFR list with photos. Still working on M151 in Canadian Service book for Service Publications.

There was 1 Line M151A2 at Valcartier, no photos of it found yet.

Thanks
Eric

Default M151A2s

Thanks Eric, the M151A2 with the plate (actually a very nice brass plaque) attached to the windscreen was the vehicle for the CO of 5 RGC in Valcartier.

Cough and gulp! I think 723 was a Sher H vehicle. The other was 725 as I recall. If you have the record, look to see if it was previously at UIC 5007.

I have a 1967 M151A1 project. I like this grill modification. Mine might receive it regardless of authenticity for my particular vehicle. Just seems like a good idea.

My grill is already set up for the cold weather cowl blanket. So fitting up a frame with holes that line up with the turn fasteners to make it removable should be doable.

I have to make a five hour road trip on a three to four week cycle. About an hour off-line is a surplus dealer where I am told there are leftover Canadian M151A2 parts. When the stars align and the snow clears, I will make a detour to go poke around. If I find a stash, I will make a deal with the dealer, and you can have one.

Default UIC records for militia vehicles.

Hello TW

I could be wrong, but I think the militia vehicles were not shown attached to the units. All of the Black Watch vehicles I had checked in the past just came back to CFB Montreal. My 30th Field trailer came back to CFB Ottawa. Other than the markings on it nothing in the file indicates 30th Field.

Or this just could be for areas that had a base.

We use to keep 3 vehicles in our compound and the rest were on the tarmac at St Hubert. Took my driver training at St Hubert/ Farnham and the streets of Montreal. Nothing like learning how to drive standard stopping and starting on a steep hill. (Guy Street)

If you need my grill cover to get one made up, I plan to go and do some work on it.

Your photos show the rollover kit was added after it was painted camouflage.

Thanks
Eric
