Grant: good eye to spot the grommet. I can’t think of an application where the cables would pass through a hole. Will keep thinking of where it could be used.
Mike: you are correct on the Chore Horse cables being black rubberized cables so my sample is not officially a Chore Horse accessory.
I ran the ZA/CAN number in the 1985 Canadian army microfiche but it was evidently a discontinued number: if I could have gotten a Federal Stock Number then it maybe have led to a better description or end use.
