If you look near the top of the data summary, it mentions it supersedes the first issue dated 28 Aug 1953. Most often the manuals come after the equipment.
I suspect yours may have been an early one before the PU-5003 designation came out for these sets. Yes, the earlier discussion I remembered was actually on the Cdn Soldiers Site. Feel free to use my input on your other sites. Attached should be the other 3 pages from the data summary.
