Thank you both for your replies, I have already rebuilt the carb which other than the nuisance of the governor works well. I am sure it is the governor as it cuts in if you try to exceed the speed in each gear as marked on the speedometer so it is working as it should. I'd just rather it didn't and allowed me to push the speed a little further in each gear!
