I respectfully suggest your carrier is 1944 production date NO.2 MK-II*, (not a UC-2 from 1943). As such, the speedometer drive is taken off the differential extension. Other than feeding through the divisional wall, you will discover all is the same as it would be on the MK-I* hull series as it is for the MK-II* hull series in their assorted stowage configurations. Marc Van Aalderen may be a good resource to speak to regards your need for the speedometer gear drive if yours is missing. There are a few parts sellers who ‘may’ have the cable cover. The two mounting brackets are basic, fairly straightforward to copy. Perhaps a local to you company can make the drive cable. I believe one forum member in Canada had them made for a reasonable price. Enjoy the journey. M. |

See page 116 of FUC-03, May, 1944. Note cable length.

Has anyone a picture of what the both ends of the speedo cable looks like? I may have a source if I can match it. I have a local company that makes cables for me, been trading for many years, very knowledgeable and few ‘old timers’ still there, might be able to help out. If there’s a demand, I don’t mind getting a few made up, keep costs down. I think I have a Mk1 in my spares, but need to dig through them all.
