Preformed the same fix on my Chev 4 speed from the C15A this past winter. The slot and pin were both worn, as well as the hole the pin was fitted into. Milled out the slot to take a new pin in the top of the transmission tower and fitted a new pin with a larger diameter to fit the rewoked hole in the tower . Worked a treat. Things are nice and snug now.
