I have these. They are copper bodied with a brass valve. Not sure what they contained. They were the original type on my carrier at production. They have dates from 1934 and 1936> I was once told they were fitted in Tiger Moths> I used to have a nice one once with a complete label, but sold it prior to contracting this (carrier) disease.
I assume they were Pyrene? (More so after Adrian's post)
Not sure what striking the knob did.
