Welcome to the Forum, Pedro!
MLU is a very broad source of infomation on a wide variety of topics, so sometimes you need to be a little specific on the info you are seeking. So, which roof and seats are you talking about? The Chev or the Iltis? |

Welcome aboard. If it's the CMP (as I hope, sorry for the bias) I can help. Oh, and I've discovered, rust is the best glue. |

I did my roof (a Ford, but I was told the roof came from a Chevy) a couple of years ago. A large tree limb had fallen on it.
There's a few locating pins in between the bolts which are a pretty tight fit. Some rust and maybe some deformation can make those lock in place. I didn't go the hammer and chisel route, but I did use a pretty big pry bar, beside where the pins are located. I was replacing the windshield frame with NOS and having the back wall reskinned at the same time, so I wasn't too worried about a little damage to the mating parts. It is only 15 bolts - nine in the back, six in the front. John |

Sometimes the rubber anti-squeak strips on the brow and rear can become pretty adhesive with age too. The front part has a pair of locating dowels as well but they shouldn't be a problem.

The CMP. I had to sell the Iltis when I blew the clutch on it. Sad to see her go after 10 years of faithful service, but I couldn't afford the new clutch or the body work. Of course now I could... So, I'm working on the Chevy instead.
