Might I suggest the British option, Bruce.

Have a gunsmith bore it to 12 Gauge, and mark it as such. In their plan - No rifling is a shotgun...

Just a thought.

Hell, they'd just call it an AR variant (black and has a pistol grip) and take it anyway. I wonder if you sleeved a 25 pounder to .22 LR you'd be OK.

None of the above would work. The Order in Council reads: "capable of". Furthermore the Boys is a named prohib.



The RCMP have not pushed this as far as they can (yet). In one case, they deemed a 1908 Brazilian Mauser as a prohib because it was modified to fire a .460 Weatherby cartridge. Technically, this should make all the 1908 Brazilian Mausers prohibited since their actions are capable of handling a cartridge which produces over 10000 joules of energy.
