Hello
My belgium friend has ended the complete restoration of a DODGE D60L5. During the sand blasting operation, some marking were discovered tranlating the fact that the truck belonged to the 9 th australian division which fought in NORD AFRICA. At the exception of the body which has been accurately rebuilded the truct is original. After 5 years of work , my friend would wish to separate from his truck. May be one australian member could be intressed. Best regards |

That's an awesome truck.....really, really nice. A pity your friend has to let it go, but I hope it finds a good home.

Very nice looking restoration. Not too many restored D60L trucks about. There is a nice original example in the collection of the AWM in Canberra.
Be very interested to see the markings that indicated the truck served with the 9th Australian Infantry Division. I hope your friend took some images during the sandblasting process. Perhaps he would let you post them here? Mike |

Tony,
That was one of the reasons I was curious to see the original markings that led the owner to believe it was a 9 Aust Inf Div vehicle. And how did it end up in Belgium? Very curious. Just did a check: there are no Dodge vehicles of any type listed in the AIF registers. The red/blue unit sign with '55' was in use in the latter part of 1942: it was 2/4 Aust LAA Regiment.
