Default Chevrolet CMP Fat von 1944

Nice Chevrolet CGT project for sale in a German website, but it is located in Belgium.

Being a typical FAT turned into a wrecker is why the rear body is missing, but also ensured it still survives in a running and stopping form.

Chevrolet CMP FAT selten
6.800 € VB

Whenever I see a FAT chassis/cab coming up for sale, I think about building one of those Indian Pattern FATs:

Default CGT Project

It would be a shame to convert the wrecker back to a gun tractor as the wrecker is an excellent and colourful example of how these vehicles were repurposed in their post-war life.

You do have a point Ed. The most extensively converted CMP I know of - see above - was preserved in its wrecker guise for exactly that reason.

Personally I would restore the CGT project I posted into a rare wartime variant of which there are no known survivors.
