From what I can see, the tracked truck was used to rescue the Weasel on trial in the mud. Exerts from the test report below. Unfortunately the photo quality is not the best.

Appears that at least some of the trials were held on a tidal mud flat, it looks like a very sticky glue pot.

Euan mentioned that Puckapunyal museum has the other surviving 'Tracked Truck'

The tidal mud flats were at Lang Lang, head of Western Port Bay.

Yikes!

That would certainly put pressure on recovery teams to unstick vehicles before the tide came back in!

Default Original patina

This turned up at a club event recently.

This Chev has survived in its original 1950s (?) livery. The markings are original and have not been reapplied.

Owner is wanting info on the RAAF number.

The all steel body has drop sides. The cab has GM-H features.

Default More pics

New canvas has been fitted. Original 216 engine. Owner has fitted new brake hoses and turn indicators. New Tyres are 11.00 x 20 made in Thailand.
