I did a search in the Library of Congress. Wilensky Auto Parts Co. purchased 28 surplus trucks at $15,096 from the U.S. govt in May 1945, Wilensky AP Co. was located in Minneapolis.
Wow, that is some US$540 per jeep in 1945, equivalent to approx. US$ $9600 today - that sounds very steep. What was the list price of an early postwar CJ Jeep?

Anyway, another $50 jeep in a crate myth buster...
