Default Carrier Carburators and Power Valves ?

We use a Holly 94 carb for the LP Carrier , using .55 jets. My question is what size power valve should be used? Has anyone ever look into this? The question is that there are several sizes of power valves that measure from 2.5" to 7.5".
The 2.5" has a weaker spring , so when used with the bigger .55 jets lets the fuel in sooner to give you more power is what I think the theory is, can anyone comment on this assumption? , Thanks Andrew.
