Hello Brains Trust and Moderator Types,
Where would be the best thread on MLU to track down World War II tank restorations? My wife works at a school and encountered a student today who is very, very interested in World War II Tanks. From the description of the information exchange - okay the student dominating the conversation - it seems likely that they would be very interested reading links to the restoration of World War II tanks. When I went to the "Restoration" thread they seem to be dominated by sticky threads. While my from reading the titles within the Armour Forum it was very hard to identify actual restoration projects. Do any tank restoration project threads spring readily into your mind that might capture the attention of an inquisitive teen? If so could you please post a reply with the links to such threads? Who knows they might even become a member and improve the lower end in age of our demographic! Thank you in advance. Kind regards Lionel

We have seen an interesting thread from NZ where one of ours (and forgive me for not remembering the details) built/builds everything for his restoration. Look for Armour Dreams. Craftsmanship and creativity beyond compare.
Credit for encouraging the student in their quest! The experience of building is long and often distracting.

Your description sounds like Colin Jones who was routinely manufacturing parts for some Vickers MK6B tanks. The posts stopped just after an amazing amount of headway was made and things were looking like tanks again. It was a real shame that the posts stopped. Colin's level of craftsmanship was truly phenomenal. Kind regards Lionel

Go to Youtube and look at "Workshop Wednesday" on the Australian Armour and Artillery Museum. Tank restoration projects updated every Wednesday.
