According to the "Thornycroft vehicle registers" Egypt actually purchased one such vehicle in 1935. 0-images-15 LE Латвия.jpg 3,4. Photos from the Internet, in which this car is designated as "model LE". I doubted it before, but now I think that this designation is correct. LE-SC6 Tartar_01.jpg LE-SC6 Tartar_02-1.jpg |

1.Advertising brochure of Thornycroft. Below is a 3-ton truck A3. The body contains an engine with a generator for powering a mobile searchlight unit. Two such trucks with trailers were delivered to the Romanian army.
What truck is shown in the top picture? In the amount of "more than 100 units" for the Indian government, only two Thornycroft models were delivered: A4 and A5. This is definitely not the A5. This machine also does not look like the A4 model from Vanderveen's reference book. Thornycroft Military Vehicles 1930.jpg 2,3.There is a similarity between the truck in the advertising brochure and the truck in the photo. What model could it be? 3,5 t.jpg 3,5 t_03.jpg 4,5.Thornycroft A3/FB4 for the Romanian Army. A3, генератор прож.jpg A3, генератор прож.jpg |

Series A.jpg The last truck is unknown to me. Probably an A4/YB6 or A5/YB6 for Sudan. Both models were delivered in small batches - 7 trucks and one chassis, and 11 trucks and one tanker respectively. According to my calculations, there are 74 (2 Normal + 72 Forward) chassis and 20 Forward A4/YB6 trucks for the Indian Office in the Thornycroft vehicle registers. 02.jpg |

1) Thornycroft EE/SC6 'Special' (IWM).
2) Thornycroft Speedy (Thornycroft Military Vehicles). This car differs from the previous one by its single rear axle wheels and license plate. 3) Thornycroft Speedy (Vanderveen's Handbook, 1974 edition). This truck has a different radiator mask. 4,5) Civil Thornycroft Speedy. There is some confusion in the model designations. Photos 3, 4 and 5 are late model Speedys. They should be designated EE/SC6. The trucks in the first two photos are probably A12/ OC4 . I could only find two vehicles with these designations in the Thornycroft vehicle registers, both acquired by the War Office. One A12/OC4 (Сhassis) 18. 2. 1931 and one EE/SC6 (Lorry) 22. 09. 1933. |

Thornycroft KE/SC6 artillery tractor.
1) One example was ordered by the War Office ( Delivery data - 18.12.1933 ). 2) 12 vehicles were purchased by the Argentine Army on 17.7.1936. These vehicles differed from the original model in their wheel rims and mesh on the radiator grille. The mesh probably served as protection from insects or tall grass seeds. 3,4) Despite its small numbers, this truck was mentioned in the British and French press. |

This is an earlier expedition with GUY "Roadless" trucks with removable tracks. He did half the expedition in the desert with the tracks on but found they were too slow so refitted the wheels.
