Mk.1* Canadian
Speaking only for Canadian Mk.1 carriers, the Boys (or Bren) wasn't fixed to the carrier by any pintle etc. Where it points out through the opening in front of the commander, it rests on the rubber pad on the bottom and has a rubber strap that drapes over it and is secured to a stud on the inside. The butt of the gun is held by a bracket to the left when not use. Later, the rubber strap was replaced by a web one.
