In trying to read your chassis plate photo it looked that it actually read CH 48?35W1S1923 whereas you had put in 30 in place of my ?. I couldn’t see what the number was in the space but it did not look wide enough for two numbers, so I put in a 0.

I searched Google under “WW2 Chevrolet CMP chassis number 48035W1S1923” and got this AI overview. I saved it to a Word document.

================================================== ====================

The Chevrolet CMP (Canadian Military Pattern) chassis number
48035W1S1923 decodes as a 1944 model year, 60-cwt (3-ton), 134-inch wheelbase truck. The components of the serial number are broken down as follows:
• 4: The first digit indicates the model year is 1944 (as GM Canada used '3' for 1943 models, the subsequent digit '4' indicates 1944).
• 8035: These four digits represent the model number, which corresponds to a Chevrolet 60-cwt (3-ton) truck.
• W1S1923: The final sequence is the specific serial number for that chassis, possibly indicating assembly information or a sequential build number. The 'S' typically indicates assembly in Sydney, Australia. The 'W1' likely indicates a specific assembly plant or contract detail specific to Australian production.
For more detailed information and a potential database of serial numbers, you can consult the Maple Leaf Up Forum, which is a key resource for CMP vehicle information.

Lucky I did, because I could not get it to repeat.

I hope this might help.
