The original prints are 3.5” x 3.5” with poor focus. Here are the best close-ups I can get of the WD/DND/CAR/CFR numbers. I can believe that the same stencil cutter was used on the Tank, Carrier, and Gun.

Using both images of the stencilling on the front of the carrier and a very hefty amount of imagination I think it might be a brief description of the vehicle for a curious observer.

If I squint my eyes, and stick my tongue out at just the right angle, the front of the carrier might read:

UNIVERSAL CARRIER
MK 1
WEIGHT 4 TON
CREW 3
Unknown text

I won’t attempt a similar effort for the stencil on the front of the tank.
