Default Fuel gauge

I gave up on fuel gauges working two trucks ago, all my trucks have sticks for checking the fuel. my standard practice on trips is to let one run dry and switch to the other on the fly and then stop at the first available gas station.
As for temperature I always use mechanical gauges.
