Neil, I had a similar discovery with two NOS 9.25-16's being smaller than other 9.00-16's. Baffling. I have also quite a few 7.50-16 NDCC Bar treads (Fitted to Aust Army land rovers) and it is quite common to find not only different brands being different diameters, but also among the same brands! Most end up now on a trailer.
Out of interest, did Jacksons tell you how many of the items were sold by tender or give any indication of prices?
