Right way
Having used one of these hand mowers many moons ago I can confirm it is the right way around, with the roller at the rear. The roller is adjustable to set the cutter at the correct angle.
It's not designed like some of the old style motor mowers with the large roller at the front. In good condition and with ideal lawn these were fun to use, but in anything less than ideal they could be a frustrating b&%*ard of a thing!
