Here are two types of shoulder flashes that my Grandfather Karl Lemon wore on his uniform. These are the ones that Bill Miller mentioned in an earlier thread.

I am posting these as a reference for discussion.

Diablos, these must have been his spares, you can clearly see they must have been just roughly cut out. My Grandfather was a Barber before the war and had his "kit" with him overseas.

I would therefore put forward that he didn't cut out his own. Would you get a haircut from him if these were the best diablos he could cut out? ![]() I would guess that they gave a group of them a piece of felt and they cut them out as a group? Just a theory. The ones on his tunic are more of a matched set.

I would now like to post a photo of my Grandfather Karl Lemon. It is my goal to create a record of his military service so that other family members will be able to read about his life.

I would again like to thank Hanno, Bill, Geoff, Mark and others for creating websites like this to get together and share information about the Kangaroos and other regiments to piece together their histories. My Grandfather is the fellow on the right. I do not know who the other two gentlemen are, hopefully someone out there does!
