Hi Cliff:
Interesting shot, but it is actually a Horch Standard Medium Personnel Car.

Not quite a staff car. Note the Cdn Divisional sign on the front and the perfectly aligned Allied recognition star - no desire to upset marauding US troops here!

Interesting pic Clive! The troopies have not only absconded with a Schwimmvagen, but obviously some weapons also. Can anyone id the rifle the the soldier in the middle is holding?

It's a G43 (Gewehr Pattern 1943) one of the first successful semi-automatics used during the war (US M1 Rifle (Garand) and M1 Carbine being two others)

I thought Kfz 15 had the spare weels on the car sides. This should be a Kfz 15. They were made 1937-1940 and was followed by the similar Kfz 16 (except for the spare wheels).

Its an early pattern Schwimmwagen too; understandably the new users have put their national insignia over the original markings but it would have been interesting to have seen what unit it was liberated from.
