Default What's in a name

When I saw the boat was called Charlotte, I got my wires crossed, thinking how ironic to have the same name as another vessel of Canada-U.S. controversy, then I checked, and it was actually the Caroline:

I guess the SSN Charlotte must be named for the North Carolina city, as I think many of the newer SSNs are named for cities. I seem recall some sort of ACLU-type conniptions when they named one of the boats Corpus Christi - or maybe it was the Vatican complaining.
