By the way, Hellyer was the Defence Minister under Prime Minister Lester Pearson.

Pearson (originally from Ontario I believe) was the PM during unification. He was also the one responsible for the Maple Leaf flag and in getting the Canadian Forces bogged down in Peace Keeping, and not Trudeau. So stop blaming Quebec!!!!

It was the PC government of John D. who tried to destroy our Militia system with an Order in Council in 1959, which brought in the “Snakes and Ladders” National Survival Training programming.

Dose anyone else see the irony in the fact that conservative governments always want to spent money on Arctic Icebreakers to protect our territory from a Yankee Land grab.
