Default Which model had what lights...?

Hi Max

Looking a Chevrolet January 1941 # 175 Army parts catalogue

.... it only shows the famous rubber taillights and makes no mention of front fender lights.

.......in the Ford Illustrated army parts catalogue dated January 1942 it has pictures of only the early cab 12 and none have any front fender lights. In the electrical section of that manual ONLY the rubber taillights are listed and NO mention of frooont fender lights.

Now it changes....... in the Chevrolet part manual datedApril 1944
we now have listings for "side lamps" and shows a listing for (First job - rubber type lamp)........

....diagram now shows rubber and metal tube lamps.......

I have a 1942 Chev C15a and it has the rubber marking lights ( in poor shape) with the wiring inside a protective tube fastened to the front fender.

On My cab 11 only the brackets for the lights were left and no evidence of hole for a tube..... in fact some wires to the fender lights were mounted underneath the fender..... not sure if that was original.....

So what is the mystery of them little lights....... seems certain that rubber tail lamps came first on the early model...... any record of service bulletin introducing the "side lamps" to the CMP.....??

Bob
