cone removing
An old RCEME type showed me this trick when I was removing my carrier axles years ago:
Try a sacrificial nut screwed almost flush with the head of the stud and give it a whack with a ball pean hammer. The jarring force usually unseats the cones and then you can slide them off by hand. Just be careful not to damage the stud. Hitting too hard could bend the stud or disrupt the threads.  Mike
