Hi Bruce
Unless things have changed in the past year you cannot use vanity plates as historic. I tried to register " UGLY EH" on the DAF as historic and it wouldn't work. I then registered it with the year of manufacture plates and my insurance company said "No, no no. This is not historic" I then reverted back to the normal historic plates. My friend at the DOT said that this may change and I don't think it has yet. One thing to be very careful of if you use year of manufacture plates. Before you put out $$$ for the plates get the number checked at the DOT. A lot of the old numbers are being recycled on trailer plates. The first set of plates I got for the DAF were the same number as a trailer up north someplace. They are nice wall hangers now.
Cheers,
Barry
