Default I D Plates

Hello Bob
The plate #636 is mine and it belongs to the carrier you show on the back of the crane truck. I thought it would be impossible to repair the original as it has been poorly welded. This is when I looked into making a new plate. Because of the cost involved I thought it would be better to make something that a number of people could utilise. Not exactly original but very close to what was used during wartime production and better than no plate at all. I believe the plates were at one time mounted on the guards and were the first to suffer damage when colliding with anything.

To answer Matt's question, the 2 plates I have made are in cast iron as is my original, but I can get them cast in any metal you like. Apparently the cost of the metal used is not a major consideration. I did't worry about getting them cast in brass as they will be under a number of coats of paint anyway.
