2006 at the Hammond Barn

Right cold morning! Had to break out the quilted overalls as it was minus 21oC at 0700hrs. Lucifer warmed up the back end of the barn nicely (we work in the front end).

Today, we replaced one of the feet on the front of my clip (see photo). After that successful transplant, Bob respooled his welder for some delicate work. After punching out one hole on my kickplate, the Powerfist punch went TU. Most of the morning was spent on theorizing what went wrong. The drill press was then used to finish the job. Bob started filled the holes nicely, but we had a weld penetration issue. So, the panel was removed with love and care. At that time, it was suggested that we go for lunch...

Following lunch, Bob moved his newly acquired frame to the field. Followed by a general rearranging of the yard. Grant conducted his inventory and discovered a few challenges - but nothing out of the ordinary.

The remainder of my time at the barn was spent with Bob fighting with a mirror arm that would not extend. Out came the torches and after the lower arm turned red, we tried the old twist - no dice. The SOB would not move, so we took off the locking collar and opened the "vents" on the lower arm. It is now soaking in penetrating oil awaiting Bob's wrath.

Not so much to report from the barn, but it remains a great day to be in the hobby!
