Default Australian War Memorial acquires Ford FGT No9 (Aust)

This is the gun tractor originally located in the 1980s by Peter Morgan, and subsequently recovered by Keith Adam, who sold it to the Memorial along with another FGT chassis.

The vehicle is currently at the Mitchell storage complex in Canberra awaiting a full restoration to static condition.

More pics here.

What a nice looking project. I am always a little concerned about the AWM's Mitchell Annex. I have heard a number of anecdotal stories about things being stored there and never being seen again.

Cheers

Default Project

Although it is in the hands of the conservators, a certain section head some of us know will be keeping a watchful eye on this one.

One Hopes that the restoration is done correctly.
KW
I want it to be 100% effort for my grandchildren.

Such a prize is worthy of care and detail.

I hope that the AWM members contact us at MLU.

Default Care

Don't worry, Ian

I will also be keeping a close eye on her too. Just hope it doesn't take forever to start the project.

My sentiments exactly. That is what I meant in my previous post. I do know that once restoration starts, Mike C will be keeping them on the straight and narrow in regards to authenticity.

Cheers
