The Brass rings were plated in Nickel, which was then painted over with body colour Green/Sand, etc. The paint doesn't adhere too well the Nickel and over time flakes off, and then the Nickel plating starts to come off the brass.
I have sandblasted these rings, then primed them with POR15 to stick to the Brass, then they will be painted to match the truck.
