That should get some flak....

hihihi
Ok boobee...I have taken your insideous remarks and turned the other cheek from you and Sunray long enough...
Although I'll be Sunrays driver for the upcoming event,I draw the line at "human land mine detector"...slit trench digger...lap dancer ...shoe shiner... and ass kisser...
But I will be in the thick of things when the bullshit starts to fly and ,fair warning...don't get in my way when the grub is handy....
I would like to know if the Caldwells will be there..or Marc Montgomery...or any of our Quebec brothers and sisters...
And Don Dingwall allways is good for a story or two...
And is Chris going to make it this year..??
Do you have a list of attendees you could post ..??
And Willy ...??Where is uncle Willy??
I'd like to see the guest list to see what size of shovel to bring for the bullshit...
So far it is a grain scoop...next size up is the back hoe...
Looking forward to Friday..

Alex,

From my point of view you are welcome to bring your back hoe - on one condition - you leave it at the barn to free up Bob's tractor for other duties. The tractor is a wonderful back saver, but it would be so much nicer to have the added capability of a back hoe, just imagine, two ended lift with swing, dig, lift and alll the other good stuff.

Grant...If you get the bridle on right and the right bit in Boobee's mouth and the spurs dug in the right place,he'd make a pretty good crane....the old bastard is tall enough...

My backhoe will be overwhelmed by that lot of bullshitters....especially the elusive Kaptain Nacho ....and a grain shovel is out of the question...I'll fire up the Michigan loader with the three yard bucket for the week end and help you clean out the field after that lot has left..

Default Lending Dignity

As I will be dragging guns with me I will remind all and sundry that the Artillery lends dignity to what would otherwise be a vulgar brawl! Clive has been made an honourary Gunner in absentia for his advice and help in bringing home the Quad Polsten.

Boobee: please put us down for nine counting the redoubtable Clive of Inja, all for steak dinners! (Clive, yours is on me in thanks)

We will be departing our environs at 0900 Sat a.m. enroute to your den of iniquity. Barring break downs, flats, piss parades and the Leafs winning the Cup (hell freezing over ) we expect to arrive before noon.

Looking forward to a fun weekend!

Cheers and Ubique! Mike

Default Late Arrival on Friday

Bob and Company,

It looks like we will arr Ottawa late Fri night...I may not make it out to Hammond on Friday.

Has anyone volunteered to collect Sunray at YOW? If yes, then please indicate soonest via this means and I will check this out on Fri PM. If not, then I will do so, but that means not being part of the Calnan Convoy to BB2. Apologies in advance Mike...

Bob, do you need anything else for Saturday?

Default Drivers

Hi Rob:

I'm going to invoke "first come, first served" privilege here... if'n you don't drive, we bring one less toy to the show... what a shame!

Don't let the numbers I mentioned fool ya... three of the nine are teenie boppers who can only co-drive.

Confirmed drivers are; me (5 tonner), you (LAAT), Graeme (Jeep), Dave (M135), Ansis (M37) and maybe Clive (C8). Ken Scobie is still a question mark.

M135 will haul float trailer with either: F60S Tipper, C60X or UC... votes folks?

Artillery will be 40mm Bofors, 155mm M114A1 Cdn, Quad Polsten, and 6 Pounder. 17 Pounder is grounded due to severely weather checked tyres. Now looking for a nice pair of 9.00x16 Ferret tyres for the 17 pounder... come on folks, lets get her back on the road!

Not to sound like a Scot, but I'm eating the gas for this one ($$$$ )so don't expect me to buy more than one round!

Mike

Mike,

Call me at 868-7970 or at 957-9603 or at 820-7350 to go over timings, etc... I had only planned on showing Saturday for the afternoon/early evening and then pulling pole. However, I don't want to leave you short a driver.

1. If you're stuck for a driver, I have a driver's licence (fresh out of my Raisin Bran box and filled in with crayon) and I don't drink, so we're good-to-go.

2. It would be nice to see the UC out but I'm ok with the C60X too, if that's the preference.

3. If you're only buying one round, Mike, can we make it a 155mm? Second choice, 6 pdr...?

4. Unless he falls back and regroups, Myke is NOT going to make it. Msg recd this PM, catastrophic breakdown on the road with commensurate recovery fees and a bullet through the hood. "This is an EX-transmission" He sends his regrets.

5. There is no No.5.

6. Boobie, I dunno how to break it to you gently, but Alex has only kindly consented to drive me to Jesse's house, so youse guys is on yer own...

7. I fergot what No.7 was supposed to be.

8. I can't count any higher than '7'.

7b. Mikey, don't eat the gas, it's not good for you, there's a good lad! Besides, there'll be more than enough of it around the campfire once Boobie gets stuck into dinner.

7d. Ferchrissakes, SOMEBODY bring a bloody camera or three!

7z. What I carry on my keychain, DA 44...

Default Fat head, eh!

I think I'll have to revive an ancient Gunner tradition this weekend... the strapping of insolent infanteers across the muzzle!... Amazing what it does for belly button piercings!

The carrier it is... I'll pur Ballington-Spin-win to work on tightening the tracks!

Better bring a video camera, Jiff so's we can make "The Year of the Mixed Bag of Rusty Army Trucks" video to sell to our Antipodean brethren!

Chris- bring stickers... I keep forgetting to mail my 20 bucks!

Boobee and Rub: Ken Scobie confirms his regrets but will be out for the NAM Air Show next weekend and at Coehill.

Cheers big ears!

Mike

Default Big ears are a sign of vast intelligence...

... but I digress. Insolent indeed!! Ah, a classic cannoncocker's fallback position when he's forced to deal with his Infantry Betters! Tsk-tsk... well, no worries, we shan't hold it against you - at least you're not Air Farce!

Yes, do let's get some footage of the soon-to-be classic Great Canadian Track Tightening Exercise of 2007! We'll need plenty of background character, though... might I suggest several unconscious bodies lying amidst the flotsam of a classic Great Canadian Beer Bash? Start off with birds chirping quietly then fade in The Rodeo Song...? We'll rename it, "Ode to Keefy"...

I have stickers and flags coming with me, for those who want them (and some who don't, but we don't care).

This promises to be an ... er... interesting ex!

Well, I just got off the phone with Clive and unfortunately he isna available to drive the C8.

Jiff, your kind offer is gratefully recieved but must be declined as we will be on the road when you are skids up on runway 16 at YOW.

Graeme will have to take the C8 and the jeep may be left behind... CMPs take priority. Clive is keen on the C60X making an appearance but on reconsideration I think I'll stick to the carrier as its much easier to load, haul and unload (uphill, both ways!).

Clive, we'll set up a row of CMPs for ya real soon:

C8, F15, F60S LAAT, F60S Tipper, C60L LIR (Light Instr Repair)and C60X. If'n Rob gets his bodywork done quickly we can even add in a C8A

Default Interrogative

Given that the Infantry bloc in this little junket are, by nature, civilised and well-mannered (as opposed to, for example, the Artillery), are we advised to bring our own tablecloths, napkins, KFS and mess kits; or were we expected to eat off old oily cardboard box tops with our fingers, like the riff-raff? (that simply won't do, y'know, sets a bad example for the men while they're digging our L-shaped trenches for the bivouac )

Your guidance eagerly sought.

Back safe but not too sound. Age is catching up with me...the knee has spoken - no cramped CMP cabs for me. Sorry, Mike the "army" knee is swollen up too much for any protracted cramped spaces. In other words, I won't be driving one of the trucks tomorrow. Blame Montreal traffic!

I plan on making it out to Hammond tomorrow AM for breakfast.

Default Good morning Alex

My simplistic, Air Force, translation of Geoff's message:
He will not be monitoring MLU starting in about 9 minutes so if you want to say some thing to him... say it now. He plans to arrive Ottawa airport at 1046 AM Eastern Daylight Time (weather and airlines willing).
