Seat Identification - Portee??

Hi All

Four images coming up. Its a seat of some sort. Speculation has it from a Marmon-Herrington to a CMP Portee.

Thanks for the further info.

I think your image is just a variation on our theme. The only difference I can see is ours has a flap-door and triangular bracket supports on the ends. Its a pity we can't see the lower fronts of the seats to view any other access flaps or strap brackets.

Hi All

Latest info is from Mike Ceci,

"to the best of my knowledge it is one of the rear seats from a Marmon-Herrington 6x6 breakdown truck."

So if we can find a picture of the rear of one of these we can compare.

Pic from the Australian War Memorial Photograph Database shows your seat is similar, but not identical. Maybe best as well, would not know if I could survive a jar of Vegemite

Again, as with Mike's image, another variation on a theme. The standard throughout seems to be the seat itself with the platforms or boxes being configured for the particular vehicle's designated role.
