Default Our GMV (LR) 6x6 General Maintenance Vehicle

This vehicle is rigged up for Small Arms and Artillery (Hamel), but has a few vehicle mechanics stuff thrown in too.

Its a Land Rover, 4 speed, turbo charged 4 cyl engine, underpowered diesel, and 6 wheel drive. winch equipped, and Austalian made in early 1990's.

These vehicles have different pods, ambulance, and RAEME for different trades, etc.

We carry everything on board, and are totally self sufficient with our mini RPS, tools, Rats, H2O, and POL. Normally its kitted for three members, an armourer (SGT), vehicle mechanic (CPL), and elec fitter (CFN). We have all our swags and pers kit loaded, along with welding gear, gas bottles and cooking stuff. Very well organised.

Although it often gets overloaded, its is a very well designed vehicle, and we love it.

Arte et Marte!

Wes

PS - Thats me, 2nd from the left.

On a recent exercise (Nov 03), the Yanks were having problems with their optics on their A2's so we used the GMV's vice as a zeroing bench. Here a soldier from the US Army 25th Inf Div fires a few rds from his rifle.
