Default Autocar info

Nothing unusual about the truck but its info i require on the batch that were sent lend lease to the middle east for use by the British. The attached photo shows a line of them with British numbers on the doors, i also have a couple of pictures of one with a US bridgeing trailer and a photo of two captured by the Afrika Korps is moving around various websites. Photos and details are indeed scarce so how many were sent and where in the campaign were they used, over to you lads
cheers
Les

Hi Les;

Just a note, from what I see in the photo, the user unit of these Autocars are a Polish unit.

Cheers

Mark

Well spotted Mark so do we now presume that they were issued to the poles out there, i have some books with lots of photos of the poles in N.A but no shots of the Autocar. In addition to this info did any survive un till 1943 and move on to italy with the Polish brigade. I should contact the Polish military museum in London who knows there could be some thing hidden
thanks again
Les

I have just gone through my photos from the Polish Institute most of which appear to be Italy but can see no Autocars. A few Studebaker US6 and GMC 6X6 & 6X4 and a Diamond T wrecker but not much else in the way of US stuff.
