Default Corowa 08

Gentlemen, as all good battle plans only ever last until the first shot is fired I must sadly say that it is with regret that the Leopards will not be making a trip to Corowa this year.

This is due to a number of reasons, however there is a hold on the issue of Leopards to museums (excepting the Tank Museum as logic stated that a number remain at Pucka instead of returning to Bandiana then going back to Pucka).

Ours are a short way off still. So for those who were hoping to see a Leopard at Corowa (which included us) it will now be some other time.

There is to my dismay though, numerous rumours of up to 30 AFVs attending Corowa including Abrahms, Leopards, Centurions, etc. This is a Furphy and I am trying to find the source of these stories. Yes, it would be awesome to have all this hardware in one spot at one time but let's be realistic. The cost of bringing those sorts of toys is rather prohibitave. It's just not going to happen. The cost of bringing one semi (not B Double) from Sydney to Corowa return is upwards of $3000. That's just for the lights stuff. Cents & Leos will cost twice that. As for an Abrahms, it just won't fit on the roads, they're too wide.

Having said all that, I can announce though that if a running T34 tickles your fancy, then you HAD better get to Corowa as it will be arriving Friday..........

You can recognise me, I will be the one inside it with the big sh*t eating grin.

Hello................ DID Someone mention Corowa???

All going well, I will get to meet many of you in FOR REAL..... TAKE note: SITE 172 Ball park.. Stopping at Holbrook Thursday night as I will be knackered driving to there.. It has a pool... nice.... then on to Alb-Wod. then Corowa on the Friday...

I am adding a picture so you know what to look for.. Beer/coke/chat Is optional.

What does everyone think of a blackboard for contacting others? One at Ball Van park & one at the airport? Jan wants to know... I think its a great idea.

Buying click-click chairs tomorrow.

Default Notice boards

There are now notice boards at both Ball Park and the Corowa airport, for people to arrange to meet each other.

Robert Pearce was the first to put on a meeting request to catch up with Salesman Bob.

Default Monday Update

Just talking to Jan

There are over 60 military vehicles in town, absolute record at this point whats the estimate for Saturday.

Last night there were more Blitz's than Jeeps but this might have reversed tonight.

The Oze Ampib has arrived and tested the waters!

So far 3 Blitz Ambulances.

Everyone is to go to Ball Park to register and get their goody Bags.

We are waiting for Swiss Chris arrival tomorrow.

There has been some small mechanical issues but overall everything is going far beter than expected.

My plan is to leave at lunch time tomorrow. Can't wait; it's going to be huge.

People are already registering for next year !!

Default Tuesday night

Have just heard from Jan

The Centurion from Tim Vibert has arrived, along with lots of other vehicles.

In local Eltham news Hugh Davis and Steve arrived and collected Chris' F15 and Russ Hughes C15A, both of which I had to drive some distance to a loading ramp at the local antique shop of all places!

In other news John Stokes' modified C15A looks like it's going to make it after a serious rebuild, but Aaron's F60L from South Australia is unlikely to be there despite an enormous effort.

Howard Holgate has found transport for his cab 12 F15 so we're expecting at least one cab 12 and one cab 11.
