I forgot to mention in my previous post that Keith's visit was a real eye opener for me. Brian offered the usual ales and we quaffed a couple as per usual. Then Myrna offered tea, yes TEA, and Keith jumped at it. My first instinct was to explain to him that it wasn't a brand of Canadian beer but before I got a chance he was sipping away. I didn't think these Aussies drank anything that wasn't made from hops. Not only did Keith slurp it back but asked for another. Is this an myth shattering revelation or are Aussies more normal than we are led to believe?
