Hopefully we have not lost a lot of this uniqueness through old vehicles being scrapped by folk who don't realise just what they accually have.

On one of the Dodge Weapons Carriers here in Victoria, a yellow 4inch circle around the Allied Star on the bonnet was uncovered when it was sanded back.

The owner then painted the circle in white as he thought it looked better. thus destroying the history of the vehicle.

Yellow circles around the Allied Star in white were a requirement only for "Operation Husky", the invasion of Sicily in July 1943.

You beat me to it Cliff. I have never seen canvas doors on a radio van either.
