There will always be exemptions for certain specialist items of equipment, but the suggestion on the other forum is that in future there will only be a very limited number of classes which will permit vehicles over 2.5 metres, and the DVLA will be policing very strictly what goes into them.

Hopefully this will prove to be incorrect.
