Likewise, an easy restoration there (in my opinion)

Carrier arrived home today 0830hrs I had been working nights at te brick layers guild and finished 0700. Consequently I am now a prevernial corpse ! Washed a further two tonne of mud out of the thing. Took it for a spin to blow off the cobwebs before returning home. Will get some fresh paint on the lower hull tomorrow.. Tracks need tensioned but I need to purchase a snail first methinks.

Cheers Ben, tried with a bar today but it levers in the wrong direction to tension the tracks if you catch my drift.

Richie, a respectful step from restorer to movie maker, but a little disappointed about viewing the one of my lap of the field (It says private???) What should I expect?

Richard
I enjoyed watching your short film, it was very impressive - well done mate.
Could I please ask for the name of the music you played throughout it?
Thank You

Some very smart photos there, sorry again that I just couldn't make it. I was kind of hoping that a Loyd was going to turn up. I have a few photos of restored ones in the uk from the late 1980s but they appear to have vanished!

Not sure which is worse, mess tins or mini skips!! Those men were driving around because they wanted the carrier smile!! Well done in the commentary.

I was approached by a German chap who incidentally was dressed as a German soldier just as I was about to leave the arena in the carrier... He took great pride and pleasure telling me that his grandfather blew lots of these vehicles up in his tiger killing lots of British.... Have to admit I bit my lip real hard ! Suppose he has the right to be proud of his grandpa just as I was with mine

Listening to folk talking about the carriers spouting off utter nonsense about them made me laugh ! Even some of the organisers were clueless "here we have some T16 carriers, or here are some universal carriers they are very common" wrong wrong wrong...

Seemed there was a bit of animosity towards the poor carriers. :-)

FYI for track tensioning, before I got a snail, I used a crowbar with the curve in the end. Put a piece of 1X4 against the hull, hook the crowbar against the pin on the idler and lever away.

"So...., the part number is xxxxx. This one must be part of contract xyz"
I'll just send Bruce a picture to wind him up a bit!"

A little birdy suggested I add this one of Moi, for Bruce.

Great pics team!

Just to show that the antipodes were represented in the metal, as well as all us bods on site, here is the Aussie LP2 while still trussed and manacled for transportation....bit of a theme here!

I hope Nigel W got home without irons!

Great to meet you all, and remember the invitation to NZ next January.
