Dodge Power wagon and a Blitz semi with bow fronted trailer as well but I feel the auctioneer is correct ....200 tons of scrap!... most of the trucks look like parts only propositions. Maybe another case of years of "oh I'll do that up one day"!

Default dodges

The WW2 Dodge pictured looks like one of the ex Mt. Baw Baw ski field buses . They are 3/4 ton weapons carriers with chassis extended , and with a bus body fitted . The drivers were usually students on part time jobs during the ski season , driving skiers up the the slopes of Mt. Baw Baw... and the trucks were thrashed ! The mountain is local to me and there was another of the buses in town here for years , they were overall yellow. BTW there is snow on Mt.Baw Baw right now ... the earliest heavy snow fall for decades... even a ski lift running I believe.

I think the Chevy post borer Gordon spotted is probably the one from Pakenham, there was one sat in a yard there for many years , visible from the main highway into town. There was another one , actually still on the road in the late 70's , around Ferntree Gully, it had reg. prefix JJ from 1946.

Mike, with that early snowfall on the mountain maybe we've licked global warming.

Default Auction today

Well it was a small reunion of MLU members and Corowa attendees at Nar Nar Goon today. A great catch up.
Plenty of very rusty CMPs and other period trucks. Scrappies were out in force.
Well no photos at the moment because my card reader isn't working but can people tell me, what did the Dodge weapons carrier go for? And the rear engined CMP chassis/crane go for?
I left with an overburdened Falcon before hand. Forgot all about them.
