We have all seen the photo of the vehicles outside the Southampton CMD, circa May 1940. Now that I have the likely production figures I am trying to associate which vehicles were which in the prod. figs. For example 30-cwt Ambulances are listed and as can be seen here there is a what I believe to be F30S if ot's a 30-cwt..I am sure that I cannot see a front bumper spring.
Cany anyone suggest what the other trucks are please, and m/cs? |

This one was from Herb Ronson, which Sid Swallow sent him.

]David,
Alhough I agree with you that the ambulance is likely to be Ford; I think the others are Chev's, based on the wider bumper bars. I think I see a non driven front axle on the second from the right, and given the fact that there is not much room between the cab and tray and no spare wheel hanging on the right hand side, I would say it's a C15 and not C8. The two rows on the left seem to be 3 tons, or 30cwt's, although the ones on the left don't seem to have a tray fitted yet. The fact that only four bows per vehicle are visible and 5 or 6 bars on the body sides, I think they will be C60S, or C30's, maybe with a 3A1 body(?). Alex
