I thought I might throw open this oddity! It's a # 11 Cab C60S with I gather a 4E1 gasoline body BUT there is no evidence of any petrol tankers bodied by Southampton CMD in 1940 and no evidence of any petrol tanks supplied in the UK to the Canadian forces for some time, save for one 400 gallon one. I wonder if this body is from another truck then, or was Canadian-sourced? There were # 13 BRITISH C60S 800-gallon petrol tankers, which could have donated their bodies but I am inclined to believe it's ex-Canadian.

We know that Pearson's equipped AEC and other chassis with tanker bodies post-war....is that do you think a wartime petrol body or could it just eb a post-war new build job?

Does that tank look like an 800-gallon one? 400 to me!
